Sudha Sankaran is the Vice President – Finance of Alstom’s Asia-Pacific region effective Oct 2017. In this function, she is a member of the APAC Management Committee and the Group Finance Ex-Com.
In her role, Sudha has the overall responsibility for the financial operations and performance of Alstom in Asia Pacific covering 3 main clusters – India, Australia & NZ, China & East Asia. Prior to this role, Sudha was the CFO- Alstom India Cluster since Sep 2015, where she led various finance transformation efforts in addition to set up of Alstom’s Financial Shared Services in India. During this period, Alstom’s operations in India ramped up significantly following the award of the E-Loco and DFC projects along with the delivery of its metro projects in Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow Metro and following the expansion of its India engineering and other Centres of Excellence.
Sudha has over 20 years of professional experience in Financial planning, Controllership, Operations finance, Strategic Analysis and Leadership. She started her career at Price Waterhouse Coopers, Chennai before joining Ford India in 1997 & General Motors India Technical Centre in 2011. During her career, Sudha has worked with various cross functional stakeholders and held many finance leadership positions, in addition to supporting diversity initiatives as the Champion of GM India Women’s Councils and as the Chairperson, POSH Committee.
She holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Simmons College, Boston and is also a certified Chartered and a Cost Accountant.
